Many professional associations want to offer a function to enable people to find a professional from their association. In most cases a single postcode search is not sufficient and postcodes are not in any order.  A spatial search is required.

IServices provides a Find a Professional search function for websites.  This is real time integrated to the iMIS database to give the most up to date results.  The search accepts a postcode and a radius in kilometres.  The search uses a spatial mapping database to determine all postcodes which fall within the specified radius, and then searches iMIS to get the list of professionals who fall within the group of postcodes.  

The spatial mapping works across state boundaries.  A filter by specialty type can be added, for example "find me a commercial property auctioneer, within 25 km of where I am".

The results are listed and also plotted on a Google map, using the same spatial database to plot each location.
